Our client is one the leading full-service law firm, and are currently looking for a Planning Lawyerto join their team in either London, Oxford, Reading, or Southampton with a blended working approach. The team acts across a wide range of sectors. They are offering an excellent opportunity for a motivated lawyer who is looking to take the next step in their career.

Duties:

* You will provide strategic and tactical advice on securing planning permission, drafting, and negotiating statutory agreements,
* Undertake due diligence in relation to the planning aspects of real estate, funding and corporate transactions and advising on special protection areas such as SSSIs, Habitats, Assets of Community Value and Village Greens.
* Auditing `planning application` documents and committee reports.
* Assisting clients with risk management, appeals, judicial review and enforcement.
* You will have the opportunity to develop your own caseload as well as work closely with senior members of the team on more complex matters.
* Get involved in business development and marketing activities and develop a network of contacts both internally and externally.


The ideal candidate will have:

* Previous experience in a similar role.


* Have a good knowledge of EIA, CIL and GLA planning.


* Committed to a career in planning and environmental law
* Commercial awareness in terms of both clients and the firms business
* Awareness of the political context in which the work is undertaken at national, regional and local levels.
* Relevant technical expertise and intellectual ability
