The Role
Manage multiple varied size projects and contracts from start to close. This is a new role due to the company’s expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure costs, schedules and performance goals are met
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Manager RFP preparation and documentation
- Contract/subcontract negotiations
- Ensure government regulatory guidance is adhered to.
- Develop and implement plans and schedules
- Control contract budgets
- Variance analysis
- Assess, monitor and mitigate risk and implement corrective action plans
- Ensure documentation is properly recorded
- Program planning, knowledge of Bill of Materials and Basis of Estimate
- Analyse financial reports and cash flow
- Manage progress against schedule
- Problem solving, risk management and conflict resolution
- Manage contract requirements
The Candidate
- Experience of project managing complex aerospace/defence programs
- Experience within the Defence sector is essential
- SC clearance is essential
- P&L responsibility and budget control
- Engineering or business degree preferred or appropriate experience
- Ability to Solid, particularly “influence management”
- Customer facing
- Leadership and management skills
- Report preparation
- PRINCE 2 methodology or similar
- Work on own initiative
- Financial acumen
- Experience of export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing and supply chain
- Manpower planning, project reviews and scheduling
