The Company:

Our client is an award-winning structural and civil engineering consultancy. Their ethos is to provide a personal and responsive service to clients and the design teams they work with, helping to develop appropriate solutions in a timely manner at all stages of a project. The company has a history of working on very high end local housing projects to include refurb, re fit, basement, and loft conversion. In recent times the focus has shifted to larger scale residential and commercial projects and the company is now looking to expand on this project type further.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be the head of the small civil department so this will suit a candidate who is thinking of setting up alone, but would prefer the `safety net` of working as a new team within an existing organisation. Also ideal for candidates looking for further progression.

The successful candidate will need to have the attributes necessary to win business, continue to do design work, grow and lead a team and understand profit and loss on projects.

In the short term the successful candidate will be working on smaller scale civil works such as drainage/small roads for and on behalf of the Structural Engineering arm of the company.

The medium to long term plan is to create a stand-alone Civils team, able to win and work on their own projects as well as working with the structures team. There will be no limit to project size.

You will benefit from the established and skilled marketing, sales, and business development team.

Essential Skills and Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be ambitious and self-sufficient and looking to take full responsibility for the civil department. Candidates must have a degree in civil engineering, ideally chartered MICE and have 10 years` experience in civil engineering with drainage design experience.
