Snr Data Engineer, Remote (AWS/Redshift/BI Tools) - UK

My client, an award-winning Publishing House is looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to help support their wider data products team. Redshift experience is essential and ideally have exposure to BI tools.

This role reports to the Head of Data. 100% Home based and you need to be based and living in the UK to apply.

The Publishing House is one of the largest commercial publisher and digital platforms in the UK and is home to the UK and Ireland`s most iconic digital platforms, magazines and newspapers. Last year they sold millions of newspapers, with millions of readers for just one of their brands each month. Their network of websites is extensive and provide 24/7 coverage of news, sport and showbiz stories, with billions of page views per year.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining and building on the existing data platform around content recommendations, and coordinating technological work in line with the higher level strategies around customer experience and value.

Confident at managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

A self-starter with a can-do, will-do attitude.

Key Skills

An advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, psychology, operations research, or equivalent work experience.

Great communication skills, and ability to get stuff done.

Experience applying quantitative methods to real world problems.

Experience with Python, and libraries like Scipy, Scikit-learn, Pandas.

Experience with relational databases such as MySql or PostgreSQL
Experience with NoSQL databases, Redshift is a must and BigQuery is a nice to have.

Experience with modern data processing frameworks like Hadoop/mapreduce, Scala.
