Salary: GBP 45,000 - GBP 65,000 per annum
The Company
Our established client is looking for experienced Tax Adviser to join the team in their Oxford office on a full time basis.
The Role
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high level tax advice to business owners, SMEs and larger corporates as well as undertaking high level tax compliance/review tax compliance for the firm. The role can include managerial responsibilities if desired.
Responsibilities
* Take a leading role in providing tax advisory services directly to existing clients and new clients in conjunction with the partner.
* Providing high level tax advice to OMB and large corporate client base, as well as the individual owners of these businesses.
* Leading and collaboratively project managing client tax focused assignments across service trams.
* Contributing to the development of consultancy work/projects for the firm as a whole and cross-selling to other departments.
* Assisting colleagues with general tax advice.
* Assisting the partner with management of risk to the firm in respect of tax issues.
* Proactively being involved with tax business development initiatives and winning new business for the firm with the support of our BD team.
* Updating client base by informing them of new developments in tax matters.
* Completing or reviewing high level tax compliance work for their clients (personal, partnership and company tax returns).
* Contributing positively to the development of professional relationships both internally and externally with a key objective of creating new tax advisory project opportunities
Skills and Requirements
* Essential - a proven track record of professional experience in providing tax advisory and tax compliance services.
* Essential - very good client relationship skills.
* Preferred - appropriate tax qualifications (ATT/ACA/CTA)
* Genuine interest in our clients and have a desire to put them first.
* Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to effectively work and communicate with a variety of colleagues in different service teams from trainee to partner levels. Ability to adapt and be flexible in approach to a range of appropriate tasks/projects and people
* Demonstrate strong skills to build and maintain relationships with clients.
* Have strong communication skills to interact with others externally both professional contacts and clients.
* Possess good time management skills and have the ability to adapt to changing conditions to meet deadlines.
* Accounting knowledge would be a benefit, an eye for detail and IT literacy. Demonstrate good judgement of risk and be commercially minded.
* Be a team player that is willing to motivate and development junior staff and contribute to team meetings.
