Technical Project Manager
Fareham - South East
Through our innovative and agile people and processes, Insensys has been producing unique technology in fibre optic strain sensing since 2002. We have provided sensing systems to help power over 60 million homes globally with renewable energy. We are excited to use some of this core technology to support other projects which positively impact the environment.
As a Technical Project Manager, you will be managing and coordinating projects within our engineering operations. Typically these involve the development of new products or evolution of existing products, and will involve multi-disciplinary teams. Additional requirements may occasionally arise to oversee projects in other areas of the business. The role will encompass all aspects of the project from initial requirements capture with customers, through to manufacturing handover. A key part of the role will be preparing project budgets, resource forecasts and business cases. Planning, project scheduling, risk management, motivating and leading the team, problem-solving, and management reporting will feature in your day-to day activities.
This is a perfect opportunity for someone who has previous experience in project management in an engineering environment.
Job Responsibility:
• Establish project requirements and deliverables
• Liaise with all project stakeholders, developing business cases, budgets, resource plans and project schedules
• Form, lead and motivate the team
• Regularly liaise with stakeholders through the project, updating plans and schedules
• Regularly report project status (financial and progress against milestones)
• Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project
• Lead project close out activities, including evaluating success and lessons learned
Profile:
• A strong team player, with proven experience of planning, tracking, and reporting progress, challenges, and risks.
• A self- motivated person, largely responsible for managing their own daily tasks and timekeeping.
• A strong communicator with rapport skills
• Professional and passionate about success
• Good problem solver with structured, methodical approach
• Capable negotiator and decision maker
Experience:
• Previous project management or coordination experience is essential
• Experience of project management in an engineering/manufacturing environment is advantageous
• Technical background
• Strong commercial awareness
• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
