Technical Superintendent (VLCCs) - Hamburg

Technical Superintendent (VLCCs) - Hamburg - Permanent - £75,000-£100,000
A new opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Technical Superintendent to join an international Ship Management company in Hamburg.
The successful candidate will have their Class I Certificate of Competency (Engine) and have sailed up to Chief Engineer on VLCCs. You will ideally have previous experience as a Technical Superintendent or similar role. Excellent written and spoken English is essential.
As a Technical Superintendent you will report to the Technical Manager and be responsible for a range of processes related to the fleet of VLCC's.
These responsibilities include:
- Providing technical advice to vessels staff and members of the shore team;
- Ensuring all vessels are maintained in a safe and seaworthy condition;
- Ensuring vessels are operated efficiently to minimise fuel consumption;
- Auditing day-to-day technical activities on our vessels;
- Monitoring vessels to ensure statutory requirements are complied with;
- Monitoring planned maintenance and ensuring this is maintained up-to-date;
- Interviewing new Senior Engine Officers and appraising existing Officers.

You will be based in Hamburg but will be required to visit vessels for inspections and audits.
