An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Test and Validation Engineer to join one of the leading motorcycle manufacturers. The main purpose of this role is help them to introduce new and exciting automotive technology across the range of motor vehicles

Responsibilities:

* Defining and leading development of dSPACE rigs hardware configuration (Configuration Desk), both for bench testing and lab bikes integration.
* Createing and tailoring models for simulation of motorbike dynamic environment on lab bikes (e.g. thermal, electric motor, gearbox, ABS, wheel speed etc.)
* Adapting and optimising existing dSPACE electric motor models.
* Reviewing and modifying test plans for Electric Platform.
* Creating, reviewing, and modifying test specifications and test cases for motorcycle electrical systems (Vehicle Supervisory controller, Integration with ABS/IMU, HMI) and motorcycle components
* Creating test automation using dSPACE tool chain (e.g., Automation Desk).
* Maintaining the HIL rig layout and user interface for other users and software developers.
* Executing manual tests and converting them to automated tests.
* Documenting and tracking issues found during testing.
* Collecting and analysing test results and generate periodic test reports.


Requirements:

Essential:

* BEng in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or equivalent relevant subject.
* HND in relevant subject and relevant experience.
* Detailed knowledge of the dSPACE toolset for HIL rig real time testing in closed loop
* HIL rig hardware configuration and integration of electrical components
* Familiar with version control tools (SVN or Gitlab).
* Proficient in Systems test and validation
* Detailed Knowledge of CAN communication and familiarity with tools such as CANalyser / CANoe / vTEST Studio (or similar).
* Proficient in vehicle communication systems (CAN, LIN) design and debugging.
* Script development e.g. CAPL, Python, Perl (or similar).


Desirable:

* Previous working experience within an automotive environment. Modelling (UML / SYSML), requirements capture / management.
* Working towards being a charted engineer,
* Experience with Vector PREEvision,
* Experience with Defect resolution tools (e.g., JIRA).
* Familiar with plant modelling concepts using Matlab/Simulink.
