Salary - GBP 80 to GBP 110K per annum
Our client is a company specialising in the treatment of orthopaedic, neurological, oncological and soft tissue conditions in animals with further specialised rehabilitation services. They have a team of dedicated people working with vets and families` direct, helping animal patients regain a pain-free, functional quality of life.
The Radiologist plays a key leadership role in the organisation and delivery of excellent care to the patients. He/she will be pivotal in the delivery of high standards of clinical care, client satisfaction and team harmony. This is an important role with a responsibility for providing a radiology service across several disciplines and working with radiography, surgical, medical oncology, interventional radiology, resident, intern, nursing and auxiliary teams
Leadership and management
Provide efficient advanced diagnostic imaging to support oncology and soft tissue surgery
Ensure the smooth running of an effective radiology service to meet the four outcomes - clinical care, client satisfaction, financial resolution and team harmony
Introduce and develop other radiology services at the practice with the support of senior clinicians and the management team
Work with the wider practice team to contribute your skills, efforts and personal strengths to help ensure a harmonious team ethos at all times
Represent and promote the practice, its aims and values
Hold regular meetings with the Radiography team, ensuring a consistent approach and professional support for all
Active participation in weekly multi - disciplinary senior clinician case discussion meetings
Maintain professional standards in accordance with the RCVS guidelines
Work closely with the floor co-ordinator to facilitate the flow of patients
Assist in the reporting of clinical errors in order to promote a culture of transparency and assist with hospital improvements
Assist with the induction/orientation of all staff to the hospital
Support marketing initiatives and promote our services both within and outside the practice
Welcome and provide support for visiting veterinary surgeons, students and work experience personnel
Evaluation and monitoring of radiology
Continual evaluation of the radiology service within the practice
Maintain and improve efficiency and clinical quality and monitor standards using data, audits and reports
Discuss and resolve service delivery issues at the earliest opportunity and escalate risks appropriately and when necessary
Ensure all IRMER regulations are followed, any breaches reported, and rectification plans implemented
Essential
- Board eligible Radiologist (e.g. ECVDI or ACVR)
- Veterinary degree registrable with the RCVS
- Awareness of the operational aspects of a busy clinical environment
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
