Head of Supply Chain

This is an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Retail Supply Chain professional with solid end-to-end Supply Chain expertise to join leading national retail group.

Reporting to the Purchasing Director and responsible for one direct report (Supply Chain Manager), this role is based the Warrington DC.

The role

* Manage the 3PL DC & Logistics operations.
* Manage the .COM service operations.
* Manage the Import operations.
* Lead the development and implementation of strategic Supply Chain initiatives to continually exceed business and customers' expectations, ensuring the capabilities needed to grow the business.
* Manage the weekly costs approval & invoice clearance process.
* Control inbound/outbound product volume, storage space and workload planning.
* Management of store delivery scheduling.
* Management of inter store transfers and DC returns.
* Delivery of product volumes in line with key Business trading events.
* Management and procurement of transit media e.g. pallets and plant trolleys etc.
* Review and approve new suppliers into the National DC.
* Lead Trading & Supplier negotiations for DC/Logistics costs recoup.
* Conduct annual contract reviews and negotiate favourable rates.
* Manage the DC based .COM operation.
* Storage, Pick, Pack & Delivery.
* Management of import operations & contracts including Origin, Shipping, Destination and UK overland.
* Annual and phased cost budgets, including weekly review / reporting of costs & service KPI's to ensure best cost vs. best service.
* Cross functionally represent the Supply Chain within business meetings e.g. Trade, Retail, .COM & Finance.
* Internal & external stake holder issue resolution.

The successful candidate

* Minimum of 5 years' experience as a DC/Logistics/Supply Chain Manager, preferably in a retail environment.
* Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
* Strong organisational and communication skills, dealing effectively with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
* Ability to work independently & also lead under pressure, in a fast paced environment.
* Multi product experience, relevant degree & CIPS qualification preferable.
