The Organisation

Our client is a successful global corporation whose core business is the manufacture, installation, and maintenance of electronic distributed management control systems which ensure the comfort and security of people using large complex buildings such as Fire Safety, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Energy Solutions and Power Storage.

Job Role:

Reporting to a Global Senior Manager, you will manage the software requirements for future system control panel designs for the EMEA region utilising the software team of 25 people. This team divides into two teams, Embedded Software Engineering (20 people) and PC Software Engineering (5 people). This is a general management role requiring `design to launch` product ownership and a system-wide perspective.

The position requires experience of Embedded and PC Software in an industrial environment including knowledge of working with remote terminal units and microprocessor-controlled electronic devices which interface objects to distributed supervisory control systems, or SCADA, by acquiring and transmitting data to a master system.

Team management tasks include day-to-day supervision, career management, training and development. A sense of urgency, results orientation, `push` and `drive` is also necessary combined with the experience and aptitude required to effectively work internationally and across functions, broad enough to successfully gain commitment and relieve blockages in a complex international corporate environment.

Experience/ Skills:

Knowledge of C/C , LINUX, Cloud Connectivity, Qt, secure networks, IOT, RTEMS and Agile systems /methods or similar, would be an advantage. As a result, the desired candidate will most likely, but not necessarily, come from a Software background and will have acquired Hardware experience along the way plus team and program / project management skills, sufficient to contribute to the technology roadmap, high level specifications etc.

You will have 10 years` minimum experience in managing cross functional teams in a technology / industrial RandD environment.

Experience in Project / Program Management.

Previous experience in complex distributed system designs.

Good hands-on experience.

Technical skills of software that interfaces with electrical and mechanical designs.

Key focus is on Software and system development. (Embedded C ).

Project management skills.

Fluent written and verbal English language
