This is an exceptional opportunity to join part of a highly successful, international Packaging Group, which supports a diverse, blue chip customer base, with an innovative product range, from over 300 sites. Their Unionised site, in the North West, employs c180 people supplying markets including food, beverage, industrial, health & beauty.

In line with a strategy to double the size of the business, we are now seeking to recruit an Operations Director, capable of creating a world class “super plant”, spearheading a £multi-million capex and change management programme, whilst maintaining the already existing positive site culture.

Key to success in this role will be high levels of energy and drive, strong and practical leadership, communication and delegation ability, to maintain output and customer supply during the transitional period, whilst driving efficiencies and continuous improvement strategies using modern manufacturing tools and techniques.

With a team across Manufacturing, Engineering, Health & Safety, Transport, Quality and Continuous Improvement, you will provide clear leadership and vision, inspiring, coaching and mentoring the workforce to exceed the challenging targets set.

With a history of operational management success, candidates will be degree qualified, with experience of managing change and delivering major capex programmes, in a sizeable, high volume, fast moving manufacturing environment e.g. packaging, food, FMCG, automotive etc. With sound financial and commercial acumen, well versed in driving CI strategies, you must have excellent team building and communication skills to build strong, open relationships with your team, suppliers, customers and senior colleagues.

We are seeking to attract high potential candidates who are capable of progressing to General Management within a 2-year period.
