The company
Our client is an independent, globally recognised, full-service commercial law firm based in London with a client base that includes some of the world`s leading companies. The firm has a vacancy in its largest practice area : its world-renowned IP practice.
The Role
They are seeking an Associate to join the Commercial IP team, who will specialise in Commercial IP work.
The Commercial IP department focuses on deals where IP is at the heart of the transaction and act for clients whose businesses centre on technology, brands or media.
You will work closely with lawyers in other parts of the firm but the vast majority of IP work is stand-alone, as opposed to corporate support, with their IP lawyers taking the lead and having control.
Requirements
The successful candidate should be accustomed to assuming a high level of responsibility on transactions. They should be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for business development and the wider aspects of the role of an associate, such as knowledge management and, depending on level of seniority, the delegation to and management and mentoring of junior lawyers.
Key Skills
Substantial background in Commercial IP law
Ability to manage their own caseload.
Highly motivated, enthusiastic, proactive and reliable
Ability to work in a demanding team environment
