Head of Technical – Claims & Underwriting

Fluency in Spanish / English is essential for consideration in relation to this role which provides supervision, direction and monitoring to both underwriting and claims areas within the Household division of this well established and highly regarded insurer.
Applicants must have an insurance background and have operated in either an underwriting or claims environment as well as having some previous management experience of a small team.
In addition to management duties, this role will incorporate business monitoring, analysis and technical responsibilities such as:- Overseeing the handling of complaints and implementing appropriate solutions; analysis of loss ratios; review of underwriting criteria and policy wordings; reviewing technical aspects of IT projects; provision of information to Head Office and attending both internal and external meetings as required where on occasion, it will be necessary to assist with English / Spanish translation at business level.
