Experienced SQL Analyst / Support Developer required by the UK offices at this global financial systems vendor. This 'anchor person' position will see you combining development, tuning & performance, project, release and support work, aiding the developers around you.

SQL Analyst Developer - the Role

This exciting support developer / 'systems analyst' role will enable you to utilise a range of your talents, covering:

- SQL performance tuning & optimisation, using SQL Server or Sybase

- Project support (systems analysis, design work, configuration, data conversion, UAT, etc)

- Technical documentation production

- Technical Support using code fixes

- Release management - supporting clients through the process

- Software development - new functionality creation



SQL Analyst Developer - the Candidate

The client is keen to secure an SQL Support Developer - with very strong performance tuning and optimisation skills - who has a passion for great development, systems design, deployment and support.

Candidates must have come from a high volume 'transactional' or 'trade processing' environment.

(Please note this is not a role involving SQL report writing / data-warehousing or DBA work)

The skills-set covers: -

* SQL based performance tuning & optimisation work on SQL Server or Sybase
* UML / TTD
* Strong T-SQL
* UNIX shell scripting; experience of Linux
* Strong adaptable, problem solving skills with a good flair of creativity and teamwork

Desirable skills cover: -

* Java - J2EE, JBoss, Tomcat, and WebSphere.
* Application server - E.g. JBoss, WebSphere, Tomcat
* Experience with RabbitMQ and APM tools such as New Relic and AppDynamics are a plus.

The client will provide full product training, but requires a very experienced, well-rounded developer for this key role. The position offers a good deal of future scope for career enhancement.
