The company

Our client is a highly successful NCE100l Consultancy who provide a range of services to support the planning, construction and maintenance of infrastructure schemes and developments of varying size and complexity.

The team has particular expertise and experience in infrastructure planning and design, earthworks and 3d ground modelling, pumping stations, sewerage systems, land drainage, flooding and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS).
The civil engineers are at the centre of a broad range of projects that include urban regeneration, transport, energy, waste, industrial, commercial, residential, retail, health and leisure developments. They provide commercial benefits for clients at each stage of a project through the provision of cost-effective, integrated infrastructure solutions. The company plan, design, procure, co-ordinate and project manage projects on behalf of clients from both public and private sector.
What sets this company apart from their competitors is the variety of work the Civils team undertake in terms of project scale, client base and the different sectors they work in. Engineers therefore have a varied work load and are involved with a project at every stage in the process and are not pigeonholed into carrying out the same task day in and day out as can be the case in some consultancies. They also have a very supportive environment when it comes to career progression and further training and offer the opportunity for Engineers to become chartered, paying all of the professional fees incurred. The client hold regular CPD seminars, in-house at their office, making it easy for staff to attend. They also offer staff the opportunity to go on short courses away from the office as part of their continued professional development.

The Role

The successful post holder will work in the Civil Engineering team who undertake the following tasks:

Site appraisals, feasibility studies and pre-application planning advice
Design of roads, drainage, retaining walls, bridges and earthworks
Production of pre-planning reports, including Flood Risk Assessments, Foul Drainage and Utility Assessments and Phase 1 Geo-Environmental Appraisals

The successful post holder will work within a team and be responsible for the following:

Take a global view of infrastructure issues for new development and advise clients accordingly
Prepare outline and detailed designs of road and drainage infrastructure, junction alterations and new services
Produce technical and pre-planning reports on flood risk, drainage, utilities and geo-environmental issues, and / or check reports produced by others
Liaise with clients, project teams and local authorities
Enhance and promote the image of the client by their actions
