Established for over 29 years and a member of a large international group, the company provides dynamic logistics delivering fully integrated warehousing, logistics and fulfilment solutions for the B2B, B2C and e-commerce sectors, delivering tailored and optimised
one-stop-shop, integrated e-fulfilment solutions to successfully run their clients’ online presence.
The role
Reporting to the COO Logistics, to manage multi channel Warehouse and Distribution operations of store deliveries, online fulfilment and reverse logistics, operating two or three shifts as necessary, 7 days a week, with up to 150 staff at peak, processing 9 million units per year in two adjacent sites of mezzanine and pallet racking operations. Managing a challenging suite of contracts including fashion logistics and fulfilment (flat packed and possibly hanging), e-fulfilment as well as in developing the business by quoting, participating in tenders and the attraction of new clients. The role combines commercial, operational and development functions
Key responsibilities
- Identify and lead cost saving and efficiency opportunities;
- Lead, manage and motivate the Operational teams to drive performance efficiencies and deliver productivity targets
- Ensure that all relevant legislation is adhered to
- Manage KPI and processes to protect and support stock integrity (cycle counts, PI)
- Manage adherence to H&S processes, policy and systems to protect the safety of staff, visitors and contractors on site
-Continuous improvement and ongoing development
-Ensure key metrics are in place and reported regularly to demonstrate planned vs actual performance to date
-Ensure all contract sections have Service Level Agreements set up, measured and constantly achieved/exceeded
- Develop excellent working relationships with client contacts, transport contractors and 3rd party clients
- Plan and control an effective and productive site through the relevant control of all resources
- Ensure all operational deadlines and standards are met
- Identify, communicate and influence best business practices and processes that directly impact on profitability and quality
- Streamline the operation, maximising throughput but working to a budgeted cost per unit
- Quality control
- Liaise with couriers, which are managed on behalf of clients
- Liaise with 3PL transport contractor
- Financial and account management
