An excellent opportunity for a proactive and dedicated professional to join our clients team as Head of Equine Assisted Activities (EAA). If you feel you have the qualities, skills and experience to fulfil this varied, rewarding and vital role, they would love to hear from you.

For more than 40 years, our client has provided donkey assisted activities for children in the UK and overseas. Over the past four decades the programme has evolved to enable the provision of interactive, psychosocial Donkey Facilitated and Equine Assisted Learning Programmes, that utilise mutually enriching interaction sessions, aimed at enhancing the well being of donkeys and critical life skills of vulnerable people.

Position: Head of Equine Assisted Activities

Location: Sidmouth, Devon - `an area of outstanding natural beauty`

Salary: circa GBP 55,000 per annum

Duration: Permanent full-time, working 35 hours per week

Hours: Monday - Friday, 08.30 - 16.30

The Role

The Head of Equine Assisted Activities will strategically represent the charity as a lead stakeholder on collaborative groups/forums aiming to develop UK based equine and human standards for EAA type work. As a key speaker at relevant industry conferences, both in the UK and internationally, you will prepare, plan and manage the delivery of the overall EAA budget. You will be responsible for ensuring that the EAA service is delivered safely and within the appropriate individual regional centre budgets, presenting progress on the EAA strategy/business plan deliverables to the executive team or board as required. Overseeing the implementation of a robust EAA Strategy, you will ensure that EAA services are planned, organised and delivered around this strategy and that they support the strategic direction of the charity at all times.

About You

As The Head of Equine Assisted Activities, you will possess -

* experience of development and facilitation of Equine Assisted Activities programmes for vulnerable people.
* the ability to build, develop and maintain internal/external collaborative partnerships and relationships
* ideally been educated to degree level or possess significant relevant practical experience especially of equine care and equine assisted activity delivery
* a proven track record of effective line management and team support, along with managing a successful multi-site operation
* experience of budget planning and fiscal management within a similar environment and of implem
