My client, a legal Insurance services company is looking for an IT Project Portfolio Manager to be a single point of contact for senior leaders within the firm and their colleagues to scope, schedule and plan the delivery of the IT projects portfolio.

The company are the leading providers of legal and handling services to the UK general insurance sector. Currently they provide specialist services to 12 of the UK`s 20 largest motor insurers in areas such as counter fraud, costs, credit hire, defendant services, large and complex injury and recoveries

The role:

You will forecast the delivery costs, resourcing requirements and ensure alignment of delivery teams to meet Business and Client implementation commitments. The IT Project Portfolio Manager will create and manage regular, comprehensive reporting forums and mechanisms, tailored to the stakeholder group.

The ideal candidate will have a proven record of strong leadership and management of IT teams that enable change. This must include leading portfolio visioning and execution - identifying goals, objectives, and motivating and leading others towards their achievement.

Main Responsibilities:

Building and maintaining a portfolio of in-flight and pipeline projects.
Developing and maintaining relationships with key internal (to partnership level) and client stakeholders; influencing buy-in` to delivery approach, prioritisation and plans.
Evaluating delivery resourcing options to optimise efficiency of implementations and sequencing of tasks.
Forecasting resourcing requirements for the portfolio and refining as scope of the epics are refined and confirmed during lifecycle.
Overall management and consolidated reporting of the project portfolio. Tailoring reporting and metrics to meet the needs of varying stakeholders.
Enhancing transparency and accountability to stakeholders providing reliable commitments to delivery timeframes of use cases, tasks and epics building stakeholder and customer confidence.
Build and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Clients` and Business expectations to ensure that forecasts are appropriately scoped, scaled, costed and scheduled
Working closely with resource management, delivery teams and central functions to forecast, plan and monitor delivery of the portfolio, both pipeline projects and those in flight. Working with colleagues to release delivery blockages, where necessary.
Defining and implementing processes to streamline the portfolio management process.
Ensuring that agreed business objectives, requirements, schedules, costs and quality objectives across the portfolio of projects are being met.
Obtaining appropriate approvals and authorisations to enable progression, considering dependencies and taking appropriate action to overcome delays, difficulties or cost overruns.
