My client, one of the UK`s largest Media Companies is looking to hire a Director of Data Strategy to work across a wide range of commercial features, including display ads, content recommendations via Taboola and Outbrain, content syndication, affiliate links, commercial partnerships and sponsored content in a fast-paced and friendly environment.

This Client has an award-winning digital portfolio comprising of extensive titles reaching millions off unique users and is constantly expanding their digital portfolio via new technologies to meet the needs of their end users.

Purpose for this role

You will be asking the right questions, create deep insights, visualize data and build models for all aspects of the digital business with the diverse data from the companies many digital properties. You are a `do-er`, looking for interesting questions and have a massive collaborative streak and you will lead the Data team with responsibility for the line management and output of the team.

Responsibilities:

Clearly defining and articulating the Group`s data strategy and vision, including reference to AI and Machine learning

Leading the development of products which have data science, ML and AI at their core

Enabling the use of Data Science across all product teams

Embedding the use of data and insight into the operating culture of the business

Developing an optimal combination of central and functional analysis and insight capabilities and co-ordinating the activities of these resources to maximise their effectiveness and avoid duplication

Identifying and addressing any barriers to the delivery of insight aligned to the Group`s strategic objectives

Leadership of the Group`s central Data and Analytics team in providing analytical support and insight to the business.

Implementation of robust data governance processes

Identifying data quality issues and developing strategies to address these

Creating an environment which makes data and information accessible across all functions and ensures that insight is shared and understood

Ensuring that appropriate BI tools are available to the business and educating the central stakeholders at all levels

A passion for and deep knowledge of advanced data analytics as an experienced practitioner

To be a key part of the Product and Engineering Leadership Team, helping drive continuous improvement across the function.

Understands own strengths and weaknesses, effectively addressing these and driving own development

Adjusts team structure to meet company goals

Idea generation - leads effective brainstorming

Builds strong and lasting relationships across the business

Seeks out opportunities to support other areas of the business
