My client, UK`s largest award winning News Publisher is looking to hire an experienced Software/Full Stack Developer to join their User Journeys Team. You`ll have experience working within a web development team, be self-directed and happy to work on your own initiative

Ownership and communication in this role is also key. They are looking for people who care deeply about the code they write while at the same time are able to bridge the gap between the technical and the business areas of the company effectively. They want people who look farther than the technical aspect of the work and care deeply about the human aspect of their products.

Key Responsibilities

You will be part of a team embedded in a much larger media organisation. We are organised around small and nimble product teams that have close contact with the editorial and commercial sides.

You will be designing, prototyping and implementing new exciting news products, and the work you`ll do here will be used by millions of people.

Our main stack is Node.js based built on AWS Lambda, and we are strong believers in DevOps principles and infrastructure as code. Other things we like to see in people are:

Experience of Node.js/Express for server side development.

Experience of DynamoDB, PostgreSQL or MySQL.

Familiarity with caching strategies.

Scale to handle large quantities of content data and high volumes of traffic across numerous websites Performance optimisation

Functional programming

Team player, manage multiple tasks and priorities
