Legal Indemnities Claims Handler

Ref: : A/19732 (AMC Insurance Appointments Ltd)
Location: :

London - London

Rate: £50K (Permanent)
Industries: Insurance, Legal
Functional Areas: Legal

This is a niche class of insurance and therefore would only suit individuals with either a Legal Indemnity Insurance background, or alternatively those who have held a Property Litigation role (Conveyancing, Real Estate etc) for a few years. Being highly specialised, only backgrounds such as these would be deemed suitable as strong (and hands on) Legal Indemnity / Property Law knowledge is pre-requisite.

Within this role you would be responsible for assisting the Claims Manager in responding to and dealing efficiently with the legal claims on indemnity policies as well as contributing to the development of the claims handling strategies and continued high levels of service.

Specific duties to include:
• Maintaining the ‘claims’ inbox as a priority, regularly reviewing all emails and dealing, or redirecting as appropriate.
• Setting up all new claims on the claims system, acknowledging claim notifications, carrying out sanctions checks, entering all key dates on the system, and saving/uploading all correspondence to the claims systems.
• Updating the claims bordereau.
• Acting as an initial point of contact for claims enquiries.
• Reviewing and analysing claims and assisting the Claims Manager generally with responding to claims, including the preparation of letters, instruction of panel solicitors, counsel and valuers where appropriate.
• Attend external meetings with insurers and third parties.
• Maintaining both electronic and paper files
Although just a few years experience in Legal Indemnity claims / Property Law are required to enable candidates to carry out this role, it should be noted that more experienced individuals would also be considered yet still reporting in to the Claims Manager.
