My client, a global software development company is looking for a humble, but ambitious, razor-sharp Head of Engineering and Technical Lead with Cloud Operations experience to help build out a set of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning powered tools and services which will allow the company to automatically optimize client cloud infrastructure by detecting underutilized/unutilized resources, reprovision on the fly, and better predict spend patterns.

This includes, but is not limited to, creating a modular and robust platform that can integrate with multiple cloud providers such as AWS, Digital Ocean, Azure, etc. You will also be responsible to help build and manage a fast-paced and dynamic Scrum team.

First Six Month Deliverables

Create an autonomous team that can coordinate with devOps and data science teams and work in a service oriented architecture
Develop the first version of the intelligent usage statement that can detect and action underutilized/unutilized infrastructure, identify overutilized infrastructure and recommend RI commitments

Requirements

8 plus years solid experience in back end open source based technologies, including at least 2 years in Ruby or RoR cloud based ecosystems
A minimum of 3 plus years solid experience as a technical lead, including at least 2 years in large scale platform environment
CS degree required or equivalent work experience
Solid procedural and object oriented Software Engineering fundamentals
3 plus years of relevant experience managing fast-paced and dynamic Scrum team
A proven track record of senior level software engineering and architecture accomplishments in a high-capacity, large-scale, internet-based product platform
Very experienced with Agile / Scrum methodologies
Expert understanding of RoR framework
Solid understanding of AWS services
Solid experience with containerized applications and serverless functions
