We are working with a world leading software technology business, to recruit a Data Engineer to work closely with the Head of AI and analytics to work in a new emerging market. This is a really exciting time to join the team - they have recently received a large investment, and have plans to double their current user base, and events they capture. The AI strategy has been sorted, and they are now looking to add an experienced , innovative and motivated Data Engineer to the team to help build on the foundation. The Data Engineer will create and maintain optimal performance across the data pipeline.
Responsibilities will include;
* Assembling large, complex data sets to fulfil requirements across Data Science and Analytics teams
* Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements: optimizing data delivery, testing and enabling scalability
* Competent use of SQL/Python and AWS technologies
* Working with stakeholders including the Product, Development and Professional Services teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
* Creating data tools for the Data Science and Analytics team members that assist them in building and optimizing their product to further enhance their position as a leader in digital adoption analytics
* Producing high quality documentation of software design
Essential Skills / Requirements
*Strong SQL skills particularly in relation to building high performing data-models in AWS Redshift
*Experience with big data transformation across AWS technologies (Kinesis-S3-Redshift)
*Experience using Python/Scala/R
*Experience performing root cause analysis to answer specific business questions and identify improvements
*Exposure to designing API driven data services
*Knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI Service
*Motivated to learn and grow in a fast paced environment
*Excellent communication skills -able to communicate clearly with Product and Development team members
