R&D Wireless Systems Development Manager

We have a brand new role for an R&D Wireless Systems Development Manager with a background in low power RF communications (eg Wi-Fi or Bluetooth) to join a large multinational company which is setting up a new R&D facility in Cambridge. This is an exciting and highly strategic role which will see you become the figurehead for the facility, leading system development and direct management of a new engineering team. However, first and foremost, you will still be a technical leader -able to conduct system design and simulation of the physical layer of wireless communication systems. This will require working closely with RF/Analog Electronics Engineers, Digital Design, Software and Validation teams to design, bring-up, test and trouble-shoot prototype chipsets and SoC's.

Required Knowledge/Experience of R&D Wireless Systems Engineering Development Manager

* Minimum of 5 years' experience in design and implementation of wireless systems
* Solid project management and man/team management skills
* Strong technical background in signal processing and communication theory
* Programming experience in MATLAB and C/C++ for system modelling and evaluation
* Experience in IC/SoC design, and chip bring-up and testing
* Experience in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth wireless protocols and similar communications standards
* A team player; able to identify and resolve technical and schedule issues with team members. Team management skills would be an advantage.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical materials effectively and produce good quality engineering documentation.



Qualifications

* BSc, BEng, MEng or PhD qualification in Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Science or similar

Salary -£60k - £85k + Superb benefits & stock options
