Leading specialist independent Lloyd’s broker is looking for an experienced Project Manager. The Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, control and successful delivery of nominated operational projects, by managing/leading dedicated projects as identified by the Head of Business Services/COO, ensuring that the objective of each project is realized within the timescales agreed and on budget.

The job holder will act as an interface between the Division and other business units ensuring that appropriate expertise is allocated to projects and issues are raised and progressed with the appropriate personnel/business units within the Group.

Specific Responsibilities will include the following:

• Plan and execute the implementation of key business projects as directed by the Head of Business Services/COO, within specified timescales and budget by means of: Analysis, specification and documentation of business user requirements and translation of these into specifications (e.g. operating procedure manuals, policies, process flow charts etc)
• Planning and control of projects adopting standard project management practices and utilising appropriate recording systems (e.g. Teamwork).
• Post implementation review of the operational impact of the changes
• Own and responsible for the day to day management of all stages of allocated projects, including appropriate reporting, updates to senior management and escalation/mitigation of risks
• Support the delivery of the annual Operations plan for the Division
• Ensure appropriate MI is made available to management teams within the Division so that progress against key performance indicators can be measured (e.g. Operations Dashboard)
• Focal point for future development of business efficiency related initiatives
• Lead ad hoc reviews/project based work internally
• Provides assistance to the business on operational matters on an ad hoc basis
• Develop strong relationships with suppliers
• Negotiate with suppliers to provide best balance of quality, service and price
• Maintain any ongoing servicing and supply contracts appropriately and cost effectively

You will need to be experienced working in a high pressure, multi task environment and have good understanding of end-to-end insurance market processes, as well as experience of working with Project Management software/tools/methodology. In addition, Project Management Qualifications e.g. Prince 2 or equivalent, Agile etc would be highly desirable.
