We currently have multiple requirements for experienced (and highly technical) Business Development Managers with knowledge of medical devices and healthcare technologies such as clinical or diagnostics systems. In this particular role, we are looking for a Business Development Manager with an Engineering or Scientific background and solid medical device expertise to join one of the UK's leading product design consultancies. In the role of Business Development Manager in their Cambridge-based Medical Technology Division, you will be responsible for raising the company's corporate profile, building customer relationships, creating proposals and executing strategic R&D projects for clients. This will also include taking a commercial lead role on complex, multidisciplinary medical and healthcare technology development projects, ensuring the company's team of world-class R&D Engineers & Scientists are designing the right product, at the right price point to meet the client's requirements and market demands.

Current focus areas include drug delivery devices, surgical & intervention products, wireless / eHealth, medical diagnostic & instrumentation systems and consumer healthcare devices

To succeed in the role of Business Development Manager -Medical & Healthcare Technology, you will need an excellent technical degree ( eg BSc, MSci, MEng, MChem, MBioChem, MRes -or possibly PhD) in a relevant discipline, such as electronics engineering, applied physics, mechanical or biomedical engineering. In addition to technical skills, you will have relevant commercial experience in business development or consultancy sales including bids, proposals, RTT, etc in one of the key market focus areas.

The following would also be beneficial:

* Experience of forming meaningful long-term relationships with clients to bring in further business
* Experience of identifying marketing requirements/specifications and determining the best product for the market
* Experience of Intellectual Property ( IP ) and technical landscaping
* Previous involvement in commercial and technical due diligence work
* Experience of proposal writing and project management to budget and timeline
