In collaboration with The Johns Hopkins University Hospital in USA, our client is a newly established state of the art Rehabilitation Centre located in the commercial city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The comprehensive Rehabilitation Centre will address the needs of patients recovering from variety of diseases, disorders or trauma. It is dedicated to provide the highest quality care to improve the health of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Gulf Countries Council (GCC) community through innovation, collaboration, service excellence, diversity and a commitment to patient safety

The Role:

Our client currently seeks a medical executive for its 220 bed rehabilitation centre. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) assumes responsibility for coordinating organization-wide management of activities regarding medical staff administration and leadership, oversees the operations of direct report hospital facilities, functional units including, among others, medical affairs (credentialing/medical staff administration), `Affiliated Outpatient Clinics` agreements (including service level KPIs and audit control), rehabilitation activities and medical records for the hospital.

Role Responsibilities:

The CMO will:

1. Chair the hospital`s Clinical Board and be responsible to provide updates to the CEO and the hospital`s governing bodies;

2. Be responsible for the strategic planning process for the Clinical departments throughout the hospital, and will have responsibility over the development of the hospital strategic plan;

3. Under the CEO leadership, the CMO works collaboratively with CNO and COO to:

(a) Develop the hospital`s departments long range plans and strategic directions for rehabilitation services and/or other clinical services consistent with the hospital`s strategic priorities and support and implement the administrative component, as applicable;

(b) Ensures that all clinical departments` strategies and priorities are aligned with the hospital`s strategic priorities;

4. Develop and administer all clinical protocols and Medical Staff by-laws;

5. Ensure compliance with all institutional policies within their scope, and that all their direct reports are familiar with these policies, and ensure that clinical operations, protocols and pathways are evidence based and of value to the patient;

6. Ensure compliance with CBAHI standards and ensure quality of care as per CARF and JCI standards;

7. Conduct regularly scheduled leadership and staff meetings in order to communicate and interact effectively with staff to ensure the hospitals goals are realized and achieved;
