We are delighted to be working exclusively for the UK's leading integrated timber manufacturers.

Reporting to the CFO, the Group Purchasing Director will lead and drive a consistent approach towards all sourcing , purchasing and tendering activity across the Group, ensuring that value for money is maximized and cost savings generated.

In this exciting new role, the key to success will be in delivering cost savings and process improvements across multi-sites and an ability to engage proactively and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

A background gained with a large business with a diverse procurement function will be necessary and MCIPS or equivalent an asset.

The Role

*Develop and deliver the Group Purchasing Strategy globally
*Maintain a robust governance framework, ensuring purchasing activities are fully integrated into services and business objectives
*Undertake a review of the current purchase ordering process and implement continuous improvements, ensuring costs are monitored, reviewed and controlled
*Build quality relationships cross functionally and shape and direct cultural and process changes for the purchasing function
*Influence the agreement of key strategic contracts to deliver value for money
*Manage supplier relationships to add value and continuously improve performance whilst reducing commercial risks to the UK business
*Monitor supplier performance in line with KPI's, contractual obligations and service level agreements and conduct supplier audits where necessary
*Assist Finance and budget holders with budgets and forecasts
*Monitor the external business environment and take account of changes in the inflationary, commodity and Forex within the purchasing environment
*Lead and motivate the integrated purchasing team

The Person

*Experienced Purchasing Director, preferably from a blue-chip company
*Leadership experience of a large and diverse procurement function
*Proven experience of achieving tangible benefits and cost savings
*Ability to lead and work collaboratively on strategic procurement and supplier management
