Senior Development Lead - Insurance
London / Remote - London
Specialist insurance software development company is looking for a Senior Development Lead to join their multi-disciplinary team that includes ten full-time programmers, whose work is co-ordinated but not supervised by a Development Process Manager. The team has a good group dynamic with code reviews that catch errors and improve practice.
However, none of the developers holds an over-view of the entire codebase. Duplications and inconsistencies will not be spotted or addressed. Major refactorings can get postponed. Automated testing coverage is not as high as they would like.
They view the Development Lead as a hands-on role for someone with significant programming experience able to get the best out of a team of developers. He/she will identify improvements, both big and small, and work with the team to raise the quality threshhold.
The role will be based at the company’s London office but can also have a significant amount of remote working.
