GBP 60 to GBP 70k remote working

My client, a leading Publishing House is looking for a Snr QA Engineer to join our fantastic team (currently remote working). We are looking for candidates with experience carrying out manual and automated testing using a variety of tools, experience working as an advocate for quality and have experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services.

What will the role involve?

Youll be working with an established development team on business-critical, customer-facing technologies. Youll be responsible for carrying out manual testing for all new features developed by the team as well as developing automated tests to serve as regression tests going forwards.

Youll be an advocate for quality in all aspects of the SDLC and be involved in defining the acceptance criteria for new features and responsible for ensuring features built adhere to that criteria.

Youll be responsible for prioritising your own work and will be expected to share your work progress and feedback with others.

The Ideal Candidate

Ideally, youll have ISTQB/ISEB Foundation certifications or equivalent certifications as a minimum and be comfortable discussing technical aspects of projects with other testers, developers and business owners.

We are looking for people who are inquisitive, proactive and keen to be challenged, care deeply about the code they test and are able to bridge the gap between the technical and the business areas of the company effectively. We want people who look further than the technical aspects of the work and care deeply about the human aspect of our products.

You will ideally:

Understand the Software development lifecycle and the need for manual testing

Have a strong background in manual and automated test techniques

Have experience using automation tools such as Webdriver, Cypress, Mocha/Jest, Nightwatch, etc

Possess a strong background in writing automated functional and integration tests in Javascript

Have experience working with and testing REST APIs

Experience defining and executing non-functional tests cases using standard testing techniques

Understand where and when automation testing fits into the SDLC specifically Agile (Scrum, Kanban, etc)

Have experience using test management tools such as Xray or Zephyr

Be able to demonstrate a can-do, positive attitude, proactive approach to problem solving.
