Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer
London - London
Our client, a leading and highly innovative insurance software development company is looking for a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer. Reporting to the Head of IT and Security, this is a new position that is required a result of significant business gains and planned growth within the company.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Incident, Problem & Change Management
• Administration and maintenance of the internal IT and client platform systems
• Mentor and coach team members
• Ensure IT services are provided and managed in accordance with business requirements
• Ensure appropriate controls are maintained and monitored
• Infrastructure implementation
• Monitoring/Supporting backups
• Monitoring assigned tickets and managing/escalating where necessary
• Investigating IT problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
• Replacing computer components as required
• Providing support to all levels of staff, including writing process documents and relevant reports
• Documenting and managing work using ServiceDesk system
It is anticipated that 4+ years of experience as a Senior IT/Infrastructure Engineer will be required and IT Qualifications would be an advantage. It would also be an additional benefit if that experience has been obtained in the London insurance market.
Technical Skills and Knowledge required includes:
• Skilled on Active Directory administration
• Excellent knowledge of Office 365 (including licensing)
• Excellent understanding of cloud-based technologies
• VBA Skills – Understanding of shell scripts, PowerShell etc.
• Linux knowledge
• Shell scripting knowledge
• Virtualisation technologies
• NoSQL experience
• Working knowledge all the following: Networking, WIFI, Apple OSX, Windows 10
• Knowledge on network configuration and setup such as firewall, setting fixed IP, DHCP, DNS, VLAN
• IT enterprise architectures
• ITIL (Foundation Level)
• Independent ability to research technical problems and apply solutions
• Experience within an IT team in the London Insurance Market (desirable) and Insurance Broking systems (desirable)
