Head of Procurement - Aldham / Remote / Working from Home

Salary: Up to GBP 80,000 benefits

The Company:

Our client is not like other broadband providers, and they don`t really want to be. They`re currently on a mission to ensure rural villages in the East of England can access full-fiber broadband, that`s future-ready. Unlike many other broadband service providers, they work with the community to build full-fibre broadband networks, which they fund through private investment. They then provide a new, future-ready, Hyperfast service to homes and businesses within the village.

The Role:

They are now looking for an experienced Head of Procurement to join their team working remotely. They are about to embark on its second round of network build, this is supported by GBP 100m in funding. The purpose of this role is to ensure that client obtains the best value in the contracts it places and operates to allocate these funds to achieve its objectives. The client will be making major purchases in relation to its network build of 100K THP and upgrading its systems. This successful candidate will lead the procurement strategy and its implementation.

Main duties and responsibilities:

* Agree the procurement strategy for the company to achieve best value for money.
* Implement the procurement strategy throughout the business.
* Manage the Procurement process for major purchases.
* Manage major supplier relationships, including regular performance and contract reviews.
* Support the `C` suite in implementing the corporate strategy by providing best in class procurement services.
* Manage and develop a team of two people who manage the day-to-day supply chain and stock management.
* Work with Suppliers to bring any new product lines which would help the business deliver its strategy to the attention of team.
* Carry out analysis on spend patterns to inform procurement decisions
* Risk and compliance management for major contracts


Person Specification:

* CIPS Qualified
* Experience in Telecoms (desirable)
* Experience implementing procurement processes
* Management experience
* Willingness to Travel to head office (Colchester) and suppliers.
* As this role requires some working from home it`s important that you can accommodate home working, this includes suitable space to work from and an internet connection which will support it (minimum download speed of 10Mbps).
