The client
Privately owned award winning Contract Transport Company with an established portfolio of major, well known clients and a track record of substantial growth
The role
Responsible for managing the day to day operations, overall strategy, development and performance of the company and to look for opportunities for continued profitable growth
Key responsibilities
 Take responsibility for the complete management of the business.
 Provide overall leadership on a day-to-day basis and maintain morale with staff and drivers
 Plan and implement long-term business plans and strategy
 Steer the company in the most profitable direction, whist maintaining the company’s values and ethos
 Staff welfare and employment
 Overseeing the employment of office staff and driver team
 Establish internal company policies, procedures and legal protocols
 Maintain the company values
 Liaise as appropriate with credit agencies and banks regarding financial issues
The candidate
 Experienced in a senior managerial role preferably within the Road Haulage industry
 Good organisational and leadership skills driving cooperation and involvement
 Able to demonstrate experience in developing business plans and future forecasting
 Good knowledge of the industry as a whole
 Commercial acumen
 Understanding of corporate finance
 Effective decision maker
 Able to accept a challenge
 Ensure HR compliance
