Business Analyst

Our client, a leading Insurance software development company, is looking for a Business Analyst with extensive knowledge or the Lloyd’s and London Insurance Markets and ideally gained working with or for a London Broker.

The Business Analyst (BA) role will initially have a strong data analysis focus, undertaking a data migration project, describing current specifications and gathering requirements. In addition, the BA role will be a bridge between the company’s development team and the customer or third party. The BA will write and communicate specifications based on business requirements, clarifying and giving further examples where necessary. Testing is also a significant part of the role, ensuring the system does what was intended and iterating and improving where necessary along the way.

The main duties of this position are as follows:
• Gather, clarify and communicate business requirements
• Work with the team to translate business requirements into functional requirements
• Write up and explain the requirements to designers, developers and testers
• Assist in planning any integration project work
• Manage a data migration project, liaising with customers to gain an understanding of specific requirements
• Respond to questions and eliminate vagaries during the development phase
• Take part in the testing of releases of the system and system integrations
• Develop an understanding of the system

In order to be considered for this excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growing, forward thinking operation you will have:
• Significant experience within a London Broker or Carrier
• Experience in eliciting and documenting business requirements
• The ability to build and develop good client relationships
• Experience of data migration project work
• An understanding of SQL
