The Client:

Our client is an independent emergency power specialist, providing emergency standby power requirements. Based in Lancashire, and specialising in the supply, installation and maintenance of emergency power systems, they have been inspiring the confidence of businesses and service providers, across both the UK and Europe.

The client supplies, installs, maintains and repairs a huge range of high-quality diesel-powered generators, from 6.8kVA to 1250kVA. They have over 30 years` experience, serving everyone from private hires to healthcare, factories to festivals. As distributors for leading generator manufacturers, FG Wilson, they can offer both off the shelf and bespoke power supply solutions, with generators built to exact specifications if required.

The Role

Suitable for a candidate as an Electrical Generator Engineer. The right candidate will have experience in the diesel generator field installing and testing installations ranging from basic AMF to more complex peak lopping and paralleling systems

Responsibilities

* Electrical installation of all control and power cabling between the generator
* Changeover panels, switchboards, ancillary equipment such as fuel controls, louver controls, BMS controls etc,
* Testing of all the installation to the NICEIC requirements and recording all test results.
* On site testing of the installation to clients specifications and any associated fault finding and modification work, including any reprogramming requirements.
* Competence with DSE, COMAP and Woodward control panels would be an advantage.
* Call Out Rota - approx. 1 week in 8
* Generator servicing and maintenance at customer premises
* Generator Load Testing
* Generator commissioning
* Generator fault finding
* Generator electrical repairs


Skills and Experience

* Min 5 years experience working in the diesel generator installation field
* Min 2 years experience as a diesel generator commissioning engineer
* Knowledge of a variety of manufacturer`s equipment
* NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Electronic / Electrical
* City and Guilds 2832 - 18th Edition IEE Regulations
* City and Guilds 2395 / 2396 or 2392 / 2391 - Inspect and Test
* Manufacturers Training Courses
* Working as a team
* Clean Driving Licence
* Clean CRB check


Desired:

* Served a recognised electrical apprenticeship
* Computer literate, word, excel, plc languages and other software an advantage
* Experience in a variety of Alternator makes and types
* Experience in diesel engine diagnostics
* All of the above with UPS experience


Location:

* Preston or Cannock


* Hybrid working - Work from home and from depot around twice a week
