Members' Agency Programmer
London / Remote - London
Our client, a leading Insurance software development company, is looking for an experienced C# and C (or C++) Developer to join their team of experts in the role of Members’ Agency Programmer.
The role of the Members' Agency Programmer will be to support the company’s two leading database systems for Members’ Agents in the Lloyd’s insurance market, one written in C#.Net and the other in C. The role will involve both new development and support for the existing code.
Independent thought and analysis is encouraged and necessary. As well as technical proficiency, it will be essential to communicate well and acquire a sound understanding of their clients’ needs.
Main Duties will include:
• Responsible for developing software to meet customer requirements in line with agreed goals
• Responsible for building own understanding of client requirements by attending internal and external meetings as required, reading appropriate bulletins and papers, working closely with colleagues
• Produce software in line with team goals and alerting the Client Support Manager of any problems which arise
• Cover Client Support Manager’s tasks in the event of their absence, where appropriate
• Liaise with clients about requirements and propose solutions internally
• Participate in support service for the system
• Provide ad hoc support to the Senior Leadership Team as required
• Willingness to work flexible hours at times, based on needs
Experience Required:
• Experience in both C# and C (or C++).
• Experience in Java in place of C# would also be considered
• Good working knowledge of SQL
• Understanding of insurance acronyms and terminology
• Broad understanding of the London Insurance Market
• An interest in technological advances in Insuretech
