The Client:

Our client is a self-service event ticketing platform that provides online payments and ticket management tools to thousands of events organisers throughout the UK. The company`s mission is to help event organisers and content creators worldwide earn money and deliver unforgettable experiences to their fans. The business believe ticketing can be turned into a force for good by focusing on long term impact over short term profits - that`s why every ticket sold contributes to planting trees in the UK creating a sustainable future for our planet.

The Role:

The Lead App Developer will be responsible working on our clients Organiser Toolbox app on a team of 2, and growing. The Organiser Toolbox app is used and praised on a regular basis by various event organisers to both sell tickets and scan tickets, with more related revenue-focused features and functionality planned. The App is written in React Native and using expo.io libraries. Its bespoke API is written in node.js. The role can be seen as initially full-stack, and requires the candidate to be confident in planning, coding and testing new or existing features.

Skill Set:

* Strong communication skills for working with team members and clients
* Must be a self-starter, able to motivate and manage themselves effectively.
* Strong desire to build something and to work in an innovative, dynamic and fast paced company
* Polite, well mannered, excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Real-world Experience with React Native or React Web
* Experience with Node.js and websockets
* Experience leading or working within a development team, ideally an agile team
* Good understanding of git and a git project management software, such as GitLab or GitHub


Responsibilities:

* Planning development of new functionality
* Sprint scoring of planned development tasks
* Developing new functionality in React Native and Node.js
* Diagnosing and fixing bugs
* Testing new and existing code
* Deploying of releases


Team Responsibilities:

* The team responsibilities are shared across the wider development team.
* Working with Gitlab to manage issues, tasks and merge requests, as well as communicating with the team
* Planning, discussing and enacting sprints
* Level 2 Support rotation, for learning how the platform is used by their clients day-to-day, diagnosing reported problems and responding to their customer support team
* Contributing to development team culture by sharing knowledge, hosting occasional presentations and workshops
