Claims Executive (Marine)
London / Remote - London
Our client is looking for a highly personable Claims Executive with Marine claims handling experience to join their specialist department in a fast paced environment.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and a quick learner with a desire to develop in a friendly and supportive Insurance company. This role combines technical/legal knowledge with
commercial considerations so great for someone who enjoys a balance of academic application and business appreciation. This is a great opportunity to join a highly professional and experienced team, with opportunity to study to become a Solicitor in the future should they wish.
The main purpose of the role is to provide sensitive, responsive, imaginative and cost-effective claims handling and general support to clients and brokers with claims issues.
They also have a hybrid working model (minimum 2 days in the office / 3 days remote.
Specific responsibilities include:
• To manage proper handling of own claim files, including file husbandry in accordance with current claims procedures manual.
• To maintain accurate estimates on each file in accordance with the company’s estimating philosophy and to investigate the cause of each claim.
• To report in writing notification of high potential, large claims to directors, department managers and the relevant underwriter.
• 6. To share knowledge, information and experience across the claims team and department as a whole.
Experience/Skills Required:
• Degree (or other equivalent qualification) ideally in law
• Claims handling experience from a Marine/shipping related industry
• Excellent communication skills both face-to-face and when remote (video)
• Any level of Spanish or Portuguese would be great but not essential
