Managing Director

Our client is looking for a Managing Director to join their team of insurance industry specialists based in their offices in Gibraltar.

This is an exciting and multi-faceted opportunity offering wide involvement in multiple areas of the business. The role would therefore suit someone driven and ambitious and who is looking for a suitable senior leadership role at this time.

The overall purpose of the role of the Managing Director will be to manage the Gibraltar office as well as co-ordination and provision of a market-leading and professional service to the portfolio of the company’s clients. As the company has a number of international offices, there will also be significant interaction and liaison with the office locations.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• To manage the provision of statutory accounts, coordination of solvency reviews and reporting, liaison with regulators and client representatives at the most senior level
• To gain familiarity and understanding of the company’s client portfolio, insurance accounting and their client service systems and processes
• To make a strong and effective contribution to the development of the client service function at both an operational and strategic level
• To develop the office and the Gibraltar business, being a member of the New Business team advising and onboarding prospective clients with the company and licensing through the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission
• To liaise with the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission
• To be able to serve as a Director and/or Regulated Individual for certain clients

This position has a high degree of autonomy and the Managing Director will provide an immediate local reference point for all relevant business contacts and in particular for the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission. As the role will have a significant client focus, excellent communication and relationship building skills are essential. We would therefore be interested in talking to suitably experienced senior candidates, with experience gained within the insurance industry in areas such as underwriting (particularly motor), accounting, compliance and/or regulatory.
