The Client:

Our clients Corporate, Commercial and Regulatory team continues to grow and they`re looking for a planning solicitor. The team advises and represents a range of stakeholders in Scotland`s planning system, including planning authorities, government directorates, developers, landowners, and funders.

The Role:

A significant part of the team`s work involves advising developers and operators of renewable energy developments, including onshore and offshore wind, hydro, solar and energy storage. They also advise clients across a wide range of other sectors, including residential development, commercial/industrial, mining, and natural resources. They carry out planning and environmental diligence for banks and other funders.

This is a full-time position, with flexibility in terms of location and working arrangements. The opportunity to develop your career is actively encouraged. Many of their senior colleagues started with the firm as trainees and newly qualified Solicitors.

Duties:

* You will provide advice on a range of matters involving planning and environmental law including, negotiating planning obligation agreements; carrying out planning and environmental due diligence for developers and funders;
* Advising on planning appeals; enforcement, compulsory purchase orders; planning and environmental matters arising from property and corporate transactions.


The ideal Candidate will have:

* The successful planning solicitor will ideally have at least two years of relevant experience as a planning solicitor, but the role is flexible, and they are willing to consider applicants at all levels.
