The Client:

Our client is a UK-Top 100 commercial law firm providing a comprehensive range of legal services from offices in multiple locations. The firm advises businesses across different sectors complementing the firms market leadership within local government, housing, and health and social care.

The Role:

Due to growth, they have exciting opportunities for a planning Solicitor and Associate to join and work closely with the partners within the team and across the firm. The planning solicitor/associate will involve advising clients on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious planning matters, including planning appeals and compulsory purchase work.

Duties:

Our client advise on all the issues involved in bringing sites forward for sustainable development and regeneration including negotiating planning agreements, highways and compulsory purchase advice, planning appeals, listed building and conservation areas advice, contaminated land and the defence of town green applications.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Experience in contentious and non-contentious planning law (preferred), gained ideally across a range of public and private sector clients and have a desire to work on development consent orders
* Strong communication skills with a professional approach to work
* Confidence in working directly with clients
* An ability to build strong interpersonal relationships
* An aptitude for drafting and legal analysis
* A keenness to work collaboratively with colleagues at junior and senior levels
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively
* A practical and commercial approach
* An interest in business development
