Compliance Officer

Ref: : A/23926 (AMC Insurance Appointments Ltd)
Location: :

London / Remote - London

Rate: £50K to £70K (Permanent)
Industries: Insurance, Legal
Functional Areas: Accountancy / Taxation, Legal

This role would suit an individual with previous experience in a generalist Compliance capacity within the insurance sector (MGA, Broker, Insurer or Lloyd’s Syndicate), who would like to work as part of a small team, supporting the Senior Compliance Officer of this niche coverholder based in the City. This is a varied and interesting role, working as just a team of two and will include responsibilities such as:

• Ownership of the delegated underwriting agreements and joint ownership with the Senior Claims Technician of the delegated claims handling agreements, liaising as necessary with principal insurers in the negotiation and renewal of such agreements
• Monitoring and advising the Business on all relevant legislative and compliance developments impacting on the business and the Company
• Regularly reviewing all regulatory and statutory materials relevant to the business
• Investigating compliance risks and issues and providing feedback as necessary
• Providing compliance advice, guidance and support to the business
• Ensuring that procedure manuals and policies are kept up to date and accurate, and they reflect the current regulatory and legislative requirements
• Creating an audit framework which is suitable for the Business and undertaking monitoring reviews
• Assisting in the handling of all complaints ensuring all ‘lessons learnt’ are actioned; providing regular and ad hoc reports

Although previous experience in a Compliance role within the insurance sector is preferred, candidates looking to move from a Claims, Complaints or Project Manager within the London Market and who can demonstrate the skills required, will also be considered – as too would those wishing to transfer from a legal background.

In terms of experience, we are looking for individuals with significant experience in creating, reviewing and implementing policies and procedures, with a good basic knowledge of insurance regulations and who would largely be able to hit the ground running, albeit with some support.
